America is a product of immigrants, warlords, and slaves. It is immoral to deny the world access to the freedoms and ideals of our melting pot.
That's why we're fighting to:
Dismantle inhumane deportation programs and detention centers.
Pave the way for a swift and fair legislative roadmap to citizenship for the eleven million undocumented immigrants.
Ensure our border remains secure while respecting local communities.
Regulate the future flow of immigrants by modernizing the visa system and rewriting bad trade agreements.
Enhance access to justice and reverse the criminalization of immigrants.
JFK on PROBLEM v SOLUTION
My in-laws and my husband immigrated to this country without documentation, and while the normal argument is to state how productive they've been, it's really about humanity. They are from Venezuela and planned on coming here to be closer to family that immigrated before them. I think that the US plan should be to take on 100,000,000 new immigrants over the course of the next half century to start to export the culture of autonomy and choice around the world again. Immigration is a cornerstone of our national security, but more importantly, our cultural security across the globe. America is an infectious ideal that if we start to segregate who can have access to, will fade away. I will do everything in my power to ensure that more people can identify with America formally through citizenship and ideologically. That's what I call Inclusionism.
